I'm Laura and I am the owner of GLOW Makeup and Nail Bar!
I'm a fully qualified professional makeup artist living and working in the Scottish Borders. In June 2016, I completed 2 years training at West College Scotland, qualifying with a HND in Makeup Artistry. I specialise in bridal and special occasion makeup - proms, graduations, balls and lets not forget nights out! I also have experience working on editorial photo shoots, theatre makeup, fashion shows and special effects makeup for TV and film.
I use a variety of high quality makeup brands, my faves include - Anastasia Beverly Hills, MAC, Charlotte Tilbury and NARS.
In September 2018, and then again in September 2019 I won the Borders Business Retail Award for "Best Makeup Artist" which I was over the moon to receive two years in a row.
Since completing a number of private nail education courses in 2018 I have worked hard to build my skills as a nail technician. I use The Gel Bottle products which I absolutely love (they're vegan too!). I offer extensions, overlays and gel manicures, all of which I use the The Gel Bottle's "Builder in a Bottle"(BIAB) as a base. BIAB has been an absolute game changer and has very quickly become one of the most popular products available to nail professionals. I truly feel it is like magic in a bottle and is perfect for growing your nails and keeping them strong and in great condition.
In December 2019 I hoped my own little makeup and nail salon - "GLOW", which is where I am now based full time. You can find GLOW at 14 Bank Street, Galashiels.
